Guys' Group, aka: Zanzibaar
Zanzibaar is an informal meeting of young men who meet up, share a meal, chat and discuss a few pages from a book. As "young" Christian guys, we aim to encourage each other to be the men that God calls us to be. There's a friendly relaxed atmosphere with plenty of craic and a chance to share thoughts on what we've read or anything else. At the moment (i.e. for the last year or more!) we are looking at a book called When No One Sees: The Importance of Character in an Age of Image by Os Guinness. (Have a look at the blurb here.) It is thought-provoking and interesting - but not too heavy. There's also a chance, after we have a bite to eat, to catch a film or just hang out.
We meet every 4-6 weeks. We have been meeting in Zanzibaar Restaurant (hence the name!) on Patrick's Street, Cork but the new venue is The Haven, between North Main St and Grattan St - near the Gate Cinema (Check here for a map). New faces are welcome! So whether your just out of school, in college, working, volunteering, a dad, from the city, from the country - whatever, come along and be part of Zanzibaar!

(It's over 18s only and no apologies, girls - it's for guys only!)

Girls Group
For any girl at college or in their early years working!
We meet every second week, either in The Haven (Christian City Gates Café) or in various girls' homes. We aim to encourage one another and develop in our faith by drawing close to God and celebrating the fact that we are women of God. Currently we are reading a book together called "A Lineage of Grace", by Francine Rivers. It explores the lives of five women in the bible in the geneological line to Christ; Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba and Mary. When we finish one book or study we choose together what we shall do next. Everyone is given the opportunity to lead one of the nights by guiding the discussion; we all learn together!
If you are interested in coming, you would be more than welcome and we would love to have you!
