Youth Officers Visit

The C.I.Y.D. Youth Officer Mr David Brown visited the Diocese for three days during November 2008.

David took time to attend a Cork Diocesan Youth Council meeting, where he listened to the hopes, fears and concerns of all of us involved in youth ministry in this Diocese. He also encourage us and indeed challenged us by asking, how are we going to raise young people who will be the leaders in the future of the Church of Ireland?

He also had a meal with some members of the Diocesan Mission Council, where lively conservations were pursued,. This was followed by David attending the follow up evening organised by th D.C.M to carry on from the visit of Steve Crofts earlier visit to our Diocese.

As David was leaving the Diocese he remarked that he was very encouraged by his visit, but also recognised that the youth ministry landscape is rapidly changing in our diocese and indeed across the whole island, and  challenges that are arising form these changes need to be addressed with a partnership built on Teamwork,Vision and a willingness to take risks!
